Herbert McMurray Gould, age 82, of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away Saturday, August 31st, 2024 at his home surrounded by friends and family. A Celebration of Life Service was held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Medders and Bro. Robert Trent officiating, burial followed in Gould-Ivey Cemetery.
Family received friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
Herbert was born on March 14, 1942 in Cleveland, Bradley County, Tennessee, son of Edward Penrose Gould and Mildred Pauline Burchfield. He served 20 years in the US Navy, Submarine Service, and later worked for the Houston County Sheriff's Department and Land Between the Lakes.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his son, Stephen Christoper Gould.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Ellen Demarest Gould of Tennessee Ridge; son Thomas Gould (Misty) of Clarksville; daughters Cathy Deason (Shay) of Tennessee Ridge, and Maryanna Powell (Lance) of Grand Junction, Colorado; sister Sharon Burks of Montgomery, Alabama; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
